Hershey Kiss!

My mom made this hat for Sean. He is so cute in it and I want to give him a kiss because he looks like a hershey kiss or maybe an elf or wait did someone say chocolate?? Gotta run!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2008!

The Christmas card this year didn't include the dog, the photo shoot didn't go that smoothly. I am hoping in future years we can work them all in. Well, here was the best attempt. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season.

Jungle Gym

It's the small achievments now that shape Sean's existence. Here is an example of one of them. This week he began to "play" with the toys in his little exercise gym. This mat was once Ella's and I remember it as being very useful when she was an infant so long ago (it seems). I think Sean will get alot of use out of the toy in the coming months as he learns to roll over, sit up and conquer the world.

Baby Steps

It has been a long time since I blogged, but I am back with plenty to share. I don't know where to begin so before I get to overwhelmed in organizing my thoughts I will start with present day. Now, we have two cute kids! Sean (one week shy of 3 months) and Ella (4 1/2 going on 30). Sean is starting to enjoy his rattles and likes to watch just more than lights on our ceiling!

Go Fly a Kite

Ella participated with her class in the pre K graduation ceremony. She has officially moved up into that class and will graduate next year. Uh, well the class sang "Let's go fly a kite" and she did a great job memorizing all the words.

Busy preparing for new arrival!

What a lull in between posts but it is not for lack of activity beyond the blog. We were not happy with our four and a half year old...digital camera which was bought right before the first arrival so we purchased a new one just in time. I had an ultrasound last week and it was perfectly normally, baby is on track as 46 %tile for length and weight. I guess I just happen to be very efficient at carrying babies so don't be too shocked by these pictures from my week 34 and week 37 because there seriously is an almost term baby in there ready to say hi to the world. Strangers have just started to be bold enough to ask me when I am due. No name yet and you won't know until he does! Mums the word even to our cute four and half year old because she can't keep a secret.

I am tooting my own horn for once. A little wave in a sea of calm water.

Easter Hunts

We had a fun time at the zoo's bunny breakfast and easter egg hunt.

Between the zoo, the neighborhood and school. Too many egg hunts to handle.

Looking good for church on Easter Sunday!

Atlanta Trip

Here we are on a weekend trip to Atlanta. We toured the aquarium, the zoo, the natural history museum, C*NN and the World of C*oke all in two days. It was fun but a lot of walking around.

Ella was profoundly afraid of a certain 8 ft polar bear (I was a little freaked out how his eyes moved).

The aquarium has cool beluga whales that move their necks around in a freakish manner and the zoo has an excellent Panda exhibit complete with a Panda themed gift shop.

A highlight for some of us in the family was the tasting room at the World while I was quite impressed with how much Ella liked the science exhibits at the natural history museum.

By the way can you tell I am expecting, 5 months here and all I have is a pronounced gut!

SNOW?!

We had fun in the snow last weekend because for the first time in a long time it finally stuck around long enough. Ella is pictured here in the standard haute couture "playing in the snow attire" (sunglasses and cowboy boots are essential for any southern bell). Notice the ever present dog looking out the window. We made a snow family on Saturday morning that held up until Monday morning although the poor snow family lost their carrot noses at some point Sunday night.

Dance Recital

Many of you may have heard of Ella's interest in dance and she is in a class through her preschool. There was a little recital/demonstration a couple of weeks ago to show the parents what the kids have been doing. The toddler age group was pretty hilarious ranging from a child who did everything perfectly to the little girl who was crying her eyes out. Ella's group was a bit more homogenous, all a little timid but quite impressive. A side note, did you ever notice that in all my posts 95% of the time Ella is wearing a headband? Not a coincidence since this is her preference but on ballet day I finally get to tie it back!

Birthdays

I think I have finally recovered from the events in February. Primarily, the 4th birthday party, my first experience organizing an event for multiple little children. Ella invited all her classmates for a celebration with the big Cheese who by the way she was deathly afraid of. They all had a good time and Ella in addition had her grandpa with to celebrate.

Incoming: Baby Hanson

This is a depiction of me in my current pregnancy as interpreted by the offspring from my first one: Miss Ella. I am due July 6 and everyone in the house is excited except Mackye.

Live Performance

This picture shows El (4th from left) right before Christmas in her school holiday program. Her class performed Feliz Navidad, thus the sombreros.
