Atlanta Trip

Here we are on a weekend trip to Atlanta. We toured the aquarium, the zoo, the natural history museum, C*NN and the World of C*oke all in two days. It was fun but a lot of walking around.

Ella was profoundly afraid of a certain 8 ft polar bear (I was a little freaked out how his eyes moved).

The aquarium has cool beluga whales that move their necks around in a freakish manner and the zoo has an excellent Panda exhibit complete with a Panda themed gift shop.

A highlight for some of us in the family was the tasting room at the World while I was quite impressed with how much Ella liked the science exhibits at the natural history museum.

By the way can you tell I am expecting, 5 months here and all I have is a pronounced gut!

SNOW?!

We had fun in the snow last weekend because for the first time in a long time it finally stuck around long enough. Ella is pictured here in the standard haute couture "playing in the snow attire" (sunglasses and cowboy boots are essential for any southern bell). Notice the ever present dog looking out the window. We made a snow family on Saturday morning that held up until Monday morning although the poor snow family lost their carrot noses at some point Sunday night.

Dance Recital

Many of you may have heard of Ella's interest in dance and she is in a class through her preschool. There was a little recital/demonstration a couple of weeks ago to show the parents what the kids have been doing. The toddler age group was pretty hilarious ranging from a child who did everything perfectly to the little girl who was crying her eyes out. Ella's group was a bit more homogenous, all a little timid but quite impressive. A side note, did you ever notice that in all my posts 95% of the time Ella is wearing a headband? Not a coincidence since this is her preference but on ballet day I finally get to tie it back!

Birthdays

I think I have finally recovered from the events in February. Primarily, the 4th birthday party, my first experience organizing an event for multiple little children. Ella invited all her classmates for a celebration with the big Cheese who by the way she was deathly afraid of. They all had a good time and Ella in addition had her grandpa with to celebrate.
