Visit to Mammoth Caves

A weekend trip to Mammoth Caves and Louisville, KY proved to be a fun venture. Mammoth Caves has the largest underground cavern system around and we took two different tours of it. One on the way to Louisville and one on the way back home. In Louisville we hit the Starbucks by the hotel for Chai and the Louisville Zoo. The kids enjoyed the animals and the little train that encircles the zoo. Ella really like the underground caves and her training as an avid hiker paid off for mom and dad.

A section of Mammoth caves from our first tour at the old entrance.

Many years ago you could have your name smoked on the ceilings of the caves. Now this would be considered graffiti.

At the Louisville Zoo where we saw a different type of lemur than at the Minnesota Zoo. There were alot of sculptures to sit on, as well.

Last Day was a visit to the new entrance that included a stop at the Drapery room and Niagra Falls, one of the few spots with stalagtites and stalagmites.
